Cover letter has become a very essential part of a resume now, doesn't matter when you want to apply for the job, it is always recommended to attach or to send a cover letter along with the Resume. Even though you go and visit the job portals now, where like previously we used to have option to upload a resume only. Now there is a dedicated option to upload a cover letter as well.

Well in this post, I'm going to create a very nice cover letter and I will give you tips as well, what points I keep in my mind and what things you need to add up in the cover letter. So it is really going to increase the chances of your job application to be selected.

Important Points for writing Cover Letter

So there are four points I always remember when I'm writing a cover letter. First of all, in the first paragraph you are going to mention for what position you are applying for in the organization and how you came to know about that position.

Position & Advertisement

Like you came to know through website you came to know through you know any of the employees working in that organization. So if that employees working in the organization, then make sure you try to you know, catch up some employee ID from him or her. So you will be able to mention that in the cover letter as well. So if you have a reference, make sure you mentioned in the first paragraph, this is the first tip.

For Example:

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the role at your company. After reviewing your job description on website, it is clear that you are looking for a candidate that is extremely familiar with the responsibilities associated with the role, and can perform them confidently. About the job vacancy I came to know through website or Employee I am certain that I have the necessary skills to successfully do the job adeptly and perform above expectations.

Education & Achievements

Second thing you're going to mention what is your latest education and how that education is relevant to the position you're applying for and how it has helped you in your previous job profile. This is what you're going to mention in the second paragraph.

For Example:

My qualification & other certifications including MBA in marketing and finance which has helped me to pay great attention to detail. I take pride in doing a job right and in making sure everyone involved is on the same page.

Current Experience

In the third paragraph, you are going to mention about your current job profile and whenever you are writing any of the cover letter, so, you are going to apply for the position and whenever any company is releases any job vacancies most of the time, they are going to mention a job description. They are expecting to be delivered from any of the candidates who are going to apply for that position.

It is very important here. So when you're going to write a job profile, make sure you try to match that job profile with the description which they have provided. So, you know it really sounds very familiar for the recruiter when they are reading that. So like whatever description they have mentioned in the job description. It will really increase your chances to get selected.

For Example:

I have over 6 years of experience in Sales & Retail Department with a strong record of dedicated performance. In my current job as Sales Associate with ASIAN PAINTS in India & holding knowledge of Systems, Applications & products in data processing. Some of my job profile is mentioned below:

Maintaining long-lasting relationships with existing customers through exceptional after-sales service.
Actively sourcing new sales opportunities through cold-calling and emailing.
Developing in-depth knowledge of product features and benefits.
Utilizing virtual meetings to build relationships with new customers.
